As part of the information day, on January 13, 2023, a meeting of archive workers was held in the reading room of the State Archive of the Gomel Region (hereinafter referred to as the GAG).

In his report, the director of the GAGom Sushchevich A.N. brought to the attention of the team information about the events that took place in the country and abroad from December 31 to January 6, 2023.

Andrei Nikolayevich emphasized that in order to consolidate the Belarusian people, strengthen the ideas of peace and creative labor in society as the main conditions for the development of the Belarusian state, the President of the Republic of Belarus declared 2023 the Year of Peace and Creation. The corresponding Decree No. 1 dated January 1, 2023 was signed by Head of State Alexander Lukashenko.

The director of the archive also noted that A.G. Lukashenka signed Decree No. 2, which approves a new version of the Rules for the Admission of Persons to Obtain General Higher and Special Higher Education. «The rules are aimed at increasing the objectivity of assessing the knowledge of applicants and ensure compliance with the principle of equal opportunity to enter universities. They also provide for improving the selection of the most prepared and motivated applicants to receive specialties demanded by the country’s economy», – the President’s press service noted.

In addition, Andrey Nikolayevich said in his report that the Law on the republican budget for 2023 has been published. The areas of the social sphere remain the priority areas of budget policy in 2023. Financing of the social policy, health care, education, national defense, agriculture and transport sectors is envisaged.
