The State Archives of the Brest Region prepared a banner exhibition «Brest Region: Pages of History»

The State Archive of the Brest Region has prepared a banner exhibition «Brest Region: Pages of History», which is timed to the next anniversary of the formation of the Brest Region (December 4, 1939).

The exhibition presents about 100 archival documents, photographs, articles from the Brest regional newspaper «Zarya», reflecting the main milestones of the region’s development and significant events in its history (from December 1939 to the end of the 1980s).

The documents reflect the state of the economy, education, health care, culture, etc. In particular, about the damage caused during the Great Patriotic War, about administrative and territorial changes, about the introduction of industrial enterprises, about the opening of educational institutions, cultural institutions, about the development transport communication and much more. Documents containing statistical information, including the population of the region in different years, are also presented.

The exhibition was presented at the Brest Regional Executive Committee with the participation of mass media.
