The meeting of the First Deputy Minister of Justice Natalya Nikolaevna Filippova with students of the Faculty of Law of the Belarusian State University was held at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus
Before the start of the event for future lawyers, Margarita Anatolyevna Starostenko, head of the Department for the Use of Documents and Information of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, spoke about the work carried out by state archival institutions to preserve historical memory, and their contribution to the investigation of the criminal case on the genocide of the Belarusian people. Also, the guests were presented with a traveling exhibition «The Land of Courage and Glory», based on archival documents from the Great Patriotic War, reflecting the main stages of the liberation of our land from the Nazi invaders, as well as materials on the partisan movement on the territory of our country: archival photos, documents, award lists and characteristics of partisans and underground fighters operating in Belarus in 1941-1944.
Answering students’ questions, M.A. Starostenko spoke in detail about how and what information can be obtained from the archives of Belarus at the request of citizens.
The archive project received positive feedback and once again emphasized the importance of civil-patriotic work with student youth.
