The 135th anniversary of the birth of the world famous artist Marc Chagall (1887-1985)

A great role in perpetuating the artist’s memory in Vitebsk was played by David Simanovich (1932-2014) – poet, prose writer, translator, chairman of the Chagall Committee. His personal fonds No. 2260, which is held in the State Archives of Vitebsk Region, contains documents about the organization and holding of the First – Twenty Third Chagall Days, the activities of the Chagall Committee, the creation of the Marc Chagall House-Museum in Vitebsk, photos of the events dedicated to the memory of the artist.
