The Belarusian Cinema and Photo Archives conducted a tour for members of Dzerzhinsk Centre of Social Services in Fanipol

On 7 April 2022, the employees of the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings (BGAKFFD) conducted an excursion for elderly people attending the day-care department of the Dzerzhinsk Centre of Social Services in Fanipol.

The visitors learned about the history of the Archives, its structure, areas of activity, types of documents and the possibilities to find documents.

During the excursion they got acquainted with the photos from the collections of N. S. Tagrin and V. I. Kolyada, depicting the views of Minsk and other Belarusian cities of the early 20th century, the album “Dzerzhinsk: Past and Present” and the collection of photos by I. I. Shabalinsky, a photo correspondent of the Dzerzhinsk district newspaper “Stsyag Kastrychnika”.

In addition, the guests could view a photo album with pictures from the personal collection of Alzhbeta Tomashevskaya-Radziwill, donated by the owner to BGAKFFD in 2009.

In the cinema hall of the Archives, the visitors were shown the documentary film “The Biography of My Republic”.
