The State Archives of Minsk Region assist in finding documentary materials to write a research paper “Genealogy of the Trus Family”

As part of the “Archives for School” campaign in the Year of Historical Memory, the State Archives of Minsk Region assisted in finding and providing documentary materials to the state educational institution Tvorichevka Kindergarten-Basic School of Mozyr District, Gomel Region to write a research paper “Genealogy of the Trus Family”.

Pavlyuk Trus is a Belarusian poet. He was born into a peasant family in the village of Nizok, Uzda district, Minsk region.

During the joint work in the reading room of the State Archives of Minsk Region, the project leader, primary school teacher I.A. Kachuk together with one of the students and the archive staff identified and selected documents concerning the genealogy tree of the Trus family. (The student is a great-grandson of the poet’s sister Maria Adamovna Trus.)

Nowadays, researching one’s family has become especially necessary. After the mass displacements of the population, wars, repressions and loss of family archives, the majority of our compatriots broke the link of generations, lost family and clan traditions. In this regard, the restoration of family trees is of great moral importance and is aimed at preserving the memory of famous countrymen.
