The State Archives of Grodno Region published a book of documents The Grodno Orthodox Eparchy 1921–1939: Documents and Materials.
The book includes 40 documents (originals or their authorized copies) translated from the Polish language into Russian. These are the unique archival documents on the history of Grodno Orthodox Eparchy in the period between the world wars, which are held at the State Archives of Grodno Region. Most of the documents have been published for the first time.
The edition is designed for historians, local specialists, graduate and postgraduate students of the humanities and everyone interested in the history of this country.
On 18 January 2016 at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus the lists of Austrian Jews deported to Belarus in the Second World War were handed over to Belarusian side. The lists include nearly 10 000 family names.
Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management of Belarus Vladimir Adamushko and Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Kurash took part and spoke at the event.
Belarusian Archaeography Annual 16th Issue
The book contains papers on issues related to archaeography, archival science, source studies, code and text science, history of government institutions. Publishes documents on the medieval, new and contemporary history of Belarus, reviews of archival holdings, and other materials. The book is designed for archivists, historians, local specialists and philologists.
Terminology Dictionary “Electronic Document Circulation: Terms and Definitions”
Contains 220 terms related to the documentation of business processes and the exchange of documentation with the help of information technologies. These are based on the terminology used in legislative and technical normative acts of the Republic of Belarus and a number of international standards.
Methodical Recommendations on Organization and Legal Regulation of Paid Services Provided by State Archival Institutions in Scientific and Technical Processing of Records Held by Government Institutions
Cover the issues related to legal provision and organization of works in scientific and technical processing of records of government institutions performed by the state archival institutions on a paid basis. Describe the procedure of work planning, contractual agreements, acceptance of performed works, organization of accounting and reporting, etc.
The department board noted that inquiries from citizens and legal entities have been handled in strict compliance with Belarusian legislation. The work of the archive institutions in this area in the reported period was directed at the timely and qualitative execution of inquiries and petitions. The Department for Archives and Records Management and the regional archives and records authorities execute permanent control over the observance of legislation in this sphere. No violations of legislation have been found.
The department board discussed and approved the draft Plan of Actions of the Department for 2016.
In the meetings it was noted that all scheduled tasks in the main areas of archival activity have been fulfilled. In 2015 the central archival institutions performed activities under the Archives of Belarus 2011-2015 State Programme, conducted work in the protection and security of archival fonds, strengthening of archives logistics and resources basis, the formation and stocking of the National Archival Holdings of the Republic of Belarus, etc. An important area of archival activity was the provision of information services to customers, the use of archival records, the information provision of governmental institutions and local self-government, etc.
The participants also raised issues of development of the material and technical basis, increase of wages to archivists, etc.
The meeting discussed the issues of cooperation between the archival institutions of Belarus, Lithuania and Poland. Special attention was put on the celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the birth of M. Oginsky and the cooperation in safeguarding the world documentary heritage as part of the UNESCO Memory of the World Programme.
The meeting participants visited the Kaunas and Siauliai archives to learn the experience of the Lithuanian colleagues.

The Conference was organized by the Eurasian Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives (EURASICA), the Federal Archival Agency of Russia, the All-Russian Research Institute of Documentation and Archival Science, with the participation of the Russian State University for the Humanities and the Russian Society of Historians and Archivists.
Participants at the conference were representatives from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. The Archival Service of Belarus was represented by Director of the Belarusian Research Institute of Documentation and Archival Science (BelNIIDAD) A. Rybakov.
The plenary session included seven reports. The work continued in two sections: Section 1 “Theoretical aspects of standardization in records management”; Section 2 “Practices of the development and use of standards”. The conference also included a round table “The professional standards and their influence on the training of specialists”. In all, over 40 reports were announced at the conference. A. Rybakov (member of the organizing committee) delivered a report “The creation, implementation and use of standards in the field of records management: Belarusian experience” (plenary session).
During the discussions the main focus was placed on the issues of standardization of records management processes in the conditions of electronic record keeping and harmonization of national standards with international standards.

The presentation included an exhibition of documents “The Religious Life in Minsk Region in 1918-1941” prepared by the Archive’s staff together with the employees of the Central Academic Yakub Kolas Library, the Department of Rare Books and Manuscripts.
Among the speakers at the presentation were Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry V. Adamushko, Director of the State Archives of Minsk Region Yu. Romashko, Professor of the Department of Church History of Minsk Ecclesiastical Academy, Associate Professor of the Belarusian State University V. Teplova, Head of the Department of Church History of Minsk Ecclesiastical Academy A. Slesarev, Deputy Director of the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War A. Galinskaya etc.
On behalf of the Muslim religious community in the Republic of Belarus the presentation was attended by Mufti Abu-Bekir Shabanovich.
