The Archives & Records Management Journal

Historical background

The Archives & Records Management journal (Arkhivy i deloproizvodstvo) was founded on April 7, 1998 by the State Committee for Archives & Records Management of the Republic of Belarus, the Belarusian Research Institute of Records Management & Archival Studies, and the History Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus. On May 19, 1998 the journal was registered as mass medium with the Ministry of Information of the Republic of Belarus.

On March 5, 1999 the first issue came out. On December 7, 2000 the journal was entered as noncommercial organization on the Unified State Register of Juridical Persons and Individual Businessmen. From November 18, 2002 the Committee for Archives & Records Management of the Republic of Belarus was the sole founding member of the journal.

Since 2006 the Archives & Records Management Journal has been the official periodical of the Department of Archives & Records Management under the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus (the successor of the Committee).
