The National Historical Archives of Belarus received digital copies of the act books of the Vitebsk Sub-Chamber Court for 1642-1647 and the Vitebsk Castle Court for 1684-1687

As a result of the work to identify documents on the history of Belarus in archives, libraries and museums abroad, and in line with the agreement between the National Historical Archives of Belarus and the State Archives of the Tver Region of the Russian Federation, digital copies of the act books of the Vitebsk Sub-Chamber Court for 1642-1647 and the Vitebsk Castle Court for 1684-1687 were obtained. These documents allow to fill the gap in the preservation of the court records of the Eastern lands of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in the 17th century. The information they contain will serve as a basis for scholarly and regional studies. Digital copies of the books will soon be available to researchers in the reading room of the Archives.

Obtaining these copies is a continuation of the exchange of digital copies between the archival institutions of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation.
