The State Archives of Public Organizations of Gomel Region holds the 80th Jubilee celebration

On 16 March 2020 a ceremonial meeting was held at the assembly hall of the Gomel Region Executive Committee to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the State Archives of Public Organizations of Gomel Region.

This memorable date is connected with the Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party (of Bolsheviks) of Belarus of 3 March 1940, which obliged the regional party committees in Minsk, Vitebsk, Gomel, Mogilev and Polesye to organize the regional party archives and to support them with required staff and facilities.

The archivists were welcomed by the Head of the Main Justice Administration Alexander Tkachev. The best employees received awards and honorable diplomas from the Department for Archives and Records Management at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus and the Main Justice Administration of the Gomel Region Executive Committee.

The director of the State Archives of Public Organizations of Gomel Region in her speech to the audience told about the Archive’s achievements and new projects for the year 2020.

The event included a multimedia video presentation highlighting the history of the Archives and several photo exhibitions organized on the occasion of the Year of Native Land in Belarus and the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
